Private cloud storage

We cannot read your files, and we keep very little else.

No card or iDEAL needed to start.

What we cannot see

  • File contents. They are encrypted on your device with keys we never see.
  • File names. The server stores a hash instead of the name.

What we do keep

File size, upload time and the account that owns the file, plus the account details needed to run a subscription. The security page and the law enforcement guidelines list exactly what we hold.

What we hand over when legally compelled

We comply with valid EU legal requests. What we have is ciphertext and the records above, nothing we can decrypt. Read what an encrypted provider hands to police.

How this differs from the big providers

Providers that hold your keys can read your files, scan them and hand them over in readable form. We compare ourselves with Filen, Proton Drive, Tresorit, Dropbox and iCloud on exactly these points, with sources, on the comparison pages.
