Built by two brothers
in Wijchen, Netherlands.
We started Beebeeb because we wanted a cloud we could actually trust. Not one that promises privacy in a terms-of-service document, but one where privacy is a mathematical guarantee.
Two people, one mission.
Guus Langelaar
Builds the product. Writes the Rust crypto engine, the server, the web client, and the infrastructure. Previously built enterprise software at scale. Now building the cloud storage he actually wants to use.
Bram Langelaar
Runs datablocks.dev, specializing in recertified enterprise storage hardware. Handles the physical infrastructure side -- making sure our storage layer is reliable, cost-effective, and European.
We believe your files should be private by default, not by policy.
Most cloud providers can read your files. They choose not to, and they write that promise into their terms of service. But a promise is not a guarantee. Policies change. Companies get acquired. Governments issue subpoenas. We wanted something stronger: a system where even we, the operators, cannot access your data. Not "choose not to" -- cannot.
Built on circular infrastructure.
Beebeeb runs on recertified enterprise storage — drives that have served their first life in large data centres and still have decades of reliable operation ahead. We keep functional hardware out of landfill, reduce the carbon cost of new production, and pass the cost savings directly to our customers.
Privacy and sustainability aren't in tension. The same commitment to doing things right that drives our zero-knowledge encryption drives our choice of infrastructure.
Europe needs its own zero-knowledge cloud.
Right now, most Europeans store their files on servers controlled by US companies, subject to US law, under US jurisdiction. Even when those servers sit in the EU, the data is still accessible to organizations governed by the CLOUD Act. We think that is a problem worth solving.
Your files are stored in plaintext on someone else's server. The provider can read them, scan them, and hand them over. Your privacy depends entirely on their goodwill and their jurisdiction's laws.
Your files are encrypted on your device before they leave it. We store ciphertext we cannot decrypt. Even if someone breaks into our servers or a court orders us to hand over data, all they get is encrypted noise.
Built on principles, not funding rounds.
Bootstrapped
No venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs pressure. We answer to our users, not to investors. The business model is simple: you pay for storage, we keep the lights on.
Open-source clients
Our client code is open source as each client ships. You can read the encryption code, audit it, or build your own client. Don't trust us -- verify.
Honest pricing
No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no dark patterns to trick you into a higher tier. The price on the page is the price you pay. We publish our pricing publicly and we do not negotiate.
EU-based infrastructure
Stored in Europe. Your data never crosses an ocean and never touches a server operated by a non-EU company. GDPR, NIS2, and DORA compliant by architecture.
Four commitments we will not break.
Zero-knowledge always
We cannot read your data. Not by choice -- by design. This is non-negotiable.
EU sovereignty
Dutch company, EU servers, EU law. Governed by GDPR & secure by design.
Open source
All client code is public. Read it, audit it, build on it. Trust is earned, not declared.
Honest pricing
Simple plans, public prices, no tricks. You pay for storage. That is it.
