Getting started

  1. Create an account in the web app.

Sign up at app.beebeeb.io/signup. The CLI cannot create accounts: bb signup only prints the signup URL and opens it, then you run bb login.

  2. Write down your recovery phrase.

It is 12 words. Store it somewhere safe and offline. We cannot show it to you again and we cannot recover it.

  3. Install the CLI.

    Terminal window
    brew install beebeeb-io/tap/bb

Other install options are on the install page.

  4. Sign in.

    Terminal window
    bb login

This opens your browser. On a machine with no browser, such as an SSH session, use bb login --headless: it prints only a URL and a code.

  5. Upload, list and download.

    Terminal window
    bb push ./report.pdf
    bb ls
    bb pull report.pdf ./local/

Names are decrypted locally, so bb ls shows real file names. Files are encrypted on your device before they leave it.

Terminal window
bb share report.pdf --expires 7d

--expires takes hours (24) or a duration (7d). You can also add --max-opens <n> and --passphrase. The passphrase is an access gate: the server receives it and checks it, stored as an Argon2id hash. It is not extra encryption.

List your links with bb shares and revoke one with bb unshare <share-id>.
