Encryption

Files are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded. Files are chunked and each chunk is encrypted individually, so large files are handled efficiently. We never have your keys.

Keys and recovery

• Your master key is derived from your 12-word recovery phrase and unlocked by your password.
• We never have access to the key, the phrase or the password.
• Authentication uses OPAQUE, so your password never leaves your device in any form.

We can’t recover this

If you lose your password and your recovery phrase, your data is gone. Write down your recovery phrase and store it somewhere safe.
